CONFIDENCE – THE LINK TO LEADERSHIP

Most of us want to be leaders in some way or the other. It doesn’t have to be about leading a whole country or big organization – we just want to be looked up to and made to feel so much better than we do now. There are only positive effects of improving personal confidence. Life doesn’t come easy for all of us, but with a good level of self-esteem we are able to conquer whatever obstacle is threatening to throw us off.

Have you looked at any “leader” and noticed that he or she has one superpower in common? That’s called CONFIDENCE. There is no one who can do something great in life by not believing in themselves. When life gives you lemons, you should never cower down and call defeat, but you should stand up and face it head on. That is the power of Confidence. Before you are able to believe in anything else, whether it is your work, your life, your goals, ambitions, or anything else, you need to first believe in yourself. In this day and age, there are many ways for people to lose self confidence. Social media has made us believe that only if a certain number of people “like” us or approve of us, then we are acceptable. But that is just a false illusion. You are the only one staying with yourself 24/7 for the rest of your life, so you might as well like what you live with!

Confidence is something that no one can give to you. You have to gift it to yourself. It isn’t about having a super ego and thinking you’re better than someone else. It is about being positive about your own self image. It is about being assertive about what really matters. Self belief is the start of all good things, because once you have faith in yourself, you can go ahead and put that trust in others around you. You can build confidence in your colleagues as well. Being a leader starts with you believing first that you are a leader and then giving off that vibe to others. If you are under-confident about your own capabilities, you cannot expect anyone else to believe anything else separate from what you have faith in.
